Robbins is a highly successful motivational speaker, author, life coach and occasional actor, when he gets time. The topics Robbins writes about vary, from writing about removing fear and increasing confidence to making more money and taking control of your life. Tony Robbins has been featured in many newspapers, magazines and TV channels including Forbes, Newsweek, GQ, OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network), Fortune Magazine and many other media publications. Robbins is the founder of nine successful companies with combined gross revenues of more than $50 million a year.

Awaken the Giant Within is a very long book measuring at over 500 pages. However Tony Robbins invites - dares - you to take control responsibility for you  to create a life that you will love and cherish and live in accordance to your dreams and desires. Nearly every page is jam packed with advice and strategies you can implement into your life straight away. So you will be able to see change and improvement in a couple of days, if not quicker!

When you see Tony Robbins delivering one of his motivational speeches or if you attend one of his seminars you will see he always delivers them in an enthusiastic and powerful style. You can feel the energy that he brings to stage. Here is Robbins delivering one of his powerful speeches, you should have a feeling of empowerment running through you by the end of the video:

As you can see Robbins has an outstanding presence and is very motivational and very knowledgeable about life. A lot of celebrities and famous people have been coached or helped through his books. People include Bill Clinton, Nelson Mandela, Pamela Anderson and many others.

In Awaken the Giant Within the author talks about a technique he likes to call Neuro-Associative Conditioning. Robbins tells us that some behaviours we do are because we do because we want to avoid change and associate change with pain and they associate their old behaviour with pleasure. An example might include a person not wanting to exercise because he associates it with too much hard work while he might see just playing on the PlayStation an easier option. Robbins goes on to say that there are six steps to change this behaviour:

  1. Decide. He says that to make any change whether physical or mental, we must first make a strong commitment to change.
  2. Get leverage. To start changing and to motivate the person, he/she should make sure they associate their bad and old habits as malicious and painful and their new good habits with joy and pleasure.
  3. Interrupt the old pattern. He uses a very strong neuro-linguistic programming technique. It is a very useful method. If you feel like you are going to go back to your old habit or behaviours do something unexpected to shock yourself.  He writes in Awaken The Giant Within, "Next time you start to feel depressed, jump up, look at the sky, and yell in your most idiotic tone of voice, 'Hallelujah! My feet don't stink today!' A stupid, silly move like that will definitely shift your attention." Robbins frequently compares interrupting patterns to scratching a record so that it will no longer play properly.
  4. Create a new pattern. You must have a new habit to replace the old one with.
  5. Condition the new pattern. The fifth step entails having to keep on repeating the new habit until it becomes a habit.
  6. Test it. Put yourself
Tony uses a lot of Neuro-Linguistic Programming throughout the book and he explains it interrupts our pattern of thought and creates leverage to help and motivate us to stay on track with our new decisions and habits. Leverage is achieved by creating pain to move away in our minds and create pleasure to move towards. This book will help you improve your existing businesses, make you become a better entrepreneur and help you become a better person overall.

He explains the different methods and techniques of Neuro-Linguistic Programming in a way that is simple and understand and very accessible, avoiding getting technical or using jargon.

This is a great book and in my opinion Tony Robbins is a genius. He has also helped millions of people and is a great life coach and speaker. There are many powerful techniques included in this book that if implemented properly can change your life. If you would like to buy this book then please click here to buy it on Amazon.
